"My nudge" Faith for today"
Fifty years ago, I felt the "Nudge", which led me to a small Anglican church near Wellington. I realise that, if I'd been living in another country, I could
have been drawn towards another of the World's Religions
My "Faith for today" has me considering the reality of God, as revealed in a jew named Jesus. I've gradually come to know about the Historical Jesus, and the Christian belief in the mystery of his life, death, and resurrection.
Though his physical life ended in the 1st Century, somehow Jesus' spiritual
life continues to influence the World - and in particular, him influencing my
life every day - nudging my life to reflect his. However, I'm always free to
ignore Jesus' promptings.
This has led me into Ordination, serving as a Priest-Minister in Parishes, and
most fulfillingly, as City Missioner to the city's needy folk.. Then followed my retirement.
Now, at this late stage in my life, I've responded to new nudges to attempt
a weekly religious radio programme, plus a weekly Primary school lesson
about Jesus' teachings on life, "Grandad's half-hour"
