CAMA held its national conference in September, hosted by Radio Hawkes Bay
Community Access Media Alliance is the national body for the 12 independently-owned Community Access Media stations across Aotearoa. Our vision is for Aotearoa to have a vibrant, diverse, innovative, and sustainable Community Access Media sector valued for its democratic, community, and cultural uniqueness.
Radio Hawke's Bay proudly hosted the 2025 CAMA conference, welcoming managers and staff from access radio stations across Aotearoa. The gathering sparked vibrant discussion on key sector topics, including innovative funding strategies and the evolving role of social media in community broadcasting.
The conference reaffirmed the strength and diversity of community media, with attendees sharing ideas, challenges, and a commitment to amplifying local voices. Community radio continues to be a vital tool for local government - especially in times of emergency - delivering trusted information in up to 50 languages across the motu.
