EARTH MAGIC — Cultural Positioning Statement
Earth Magic is a seasonal audio programme based in Aotearoa New Zealand, following the turning of the year through a Southern Hemisphere lens. The programme weaves together music, atmosphere, and spoken reflection to explore themes of land, season, and human connection to the natural world. The structure of Earth Magic is informed by the widely recognised “Wheel of the Year,” adapted appropriately for the Southern Hemisphere. This includes observances such as Samhain, Yule, Imbolc, and Beltane, which originate primarily from Celtic traditions, alongside elements drawn from Heathen and Norse traditions, including Yule and Þorrablót.
