Addicted to Recovery

Addicted to Recovery

Host: Various
Language: English
Category: Disability and Health
Duration: 00:25:00

We’re from Ocean Hills Alcohol and Drug Rehab in Napier. Elaine brings more than 17 years of lived experience in recovery from alcohol addiction, and Stephanie is an Addiction Clinician and Registered Nurse with 16 years working in mental health and addictions. Together, we like to say we’re “addicted to recovery”.
In our session, we’ll explore the challenges that come with changing addictive behaviours, with a particular focus on alcohol misuse. We’ll look at questions like: Why make a change? Where do you even begin? What does sobriety mean, and how do you decide if it’s right for you? Most importantly, what does living your best life look like?
We’ll also talk about how to support a whānau member or friend who’s struggling with addiction — and how to look after yourself while you do it.
Expect practical tools, helpful strategies, and plenty of empathy and humour along the way.
For more information, please contact Elaine at Ocean Hills on 027 573 7744.
