CAMA Conference 2025:

Celebrating the Power of Community Media

In September, Radio Hawke’s Bay proudly hosted the 2025 CAMA Conference, welcoming managers and staff from Access Radio stations across Aotearoa—from Auckland to Southland. The gathering sparked vibrant discussion on key sector topics, including innovative fundraising strategies and the evolving role of social media in community broadcasting.

The conference reaffirmed the strength and diversity of community media, with attendees sharing ideas, challenges, and a shared commitment to amplifying local voices. Community radio continues to be a vital tool for local government—especially in times of emergency—delivering trusted information in up to 50 languages across the motu.

Another standout moment was a forward-looking presentation by Nicole Rex from NZ On Air, offering valuable insights into the future of Access Radio and the funding landscape ahead.

Special congratulations to RHB Station Manager Kelly Reid for expertly facilitating the event and creating a welcoming, productive space for collaboration

More Airtime, More Impact!

Here at Radio Hawke’s Bay, we’re moving away from monthly programs—and that means more opportunities for you to be heard. As a current broadcaster, your listeners want to hear more of what you have to say about the organisations and causes you represent.

We’re here to support you in recording more frequently.

You don’t need to go it alone—we’ll help you find the format and schedule that works best for you.

Call us today (06 - 87 88710) to chat about the opportunities available.

Let’s work together to keep our community informed, inspired, and connected—more often and more meaningfully.
